🔥 2024 Elections: Meet the Candidates for the Mayor of Ribeirão Preto 🔥

The elections to determine the mayor of Ribeirão Preto for the 2025-2029 term are approaching. The election is set for October 6, 2024, and the political parties are beginning to announce their pre-candidates. As of now, there are nine individuals who have declared their intent to run for mayor. Between July 20 and August 5, parties can hold conventions to officially select their candidates, with the final registration for candidacy due by August 15. This means the list could change, but here’s the current lineup:
Colonel Luis Usai (Podemos): At 60 years old, Colonel Luis Usai is a retired Military Police officer and lawyer. He also teaches preparatory courses for military, civil, and legal careers. A father of two, he was invited by Podemos to become a pre-candidate.
Daniel Gobbi (Progressistas): At 41, Daniel Gobbi is a lawyer and businessman. He served as vice-mayor of Ribeirão Preto and has worked as a parliamentary advisor. His pre-candidacy was formalized in March at the Capacita 11 event by the Progressistas party.
Igor Oliveira (MDB): Igor Oliveira, 40, is a well-known journalist and radio host in Ribeirão Preto. He was the most-voted city councilman in 2016 and 2020. His pre-candidacy was announced by Baleia Rossi, the president of MDB, and his name was formalized in October 2022.
Isaac Antunes (PL): At 40, Isaac Antunes has a degree in Small and Micro Business Management. In addition to being the president of PL in Ribeirão Preto, he is also the president of the City Council. His pre-candidacy was confirmed in April at a meeting of party leaders.
Ismar Menezes (Agir): Ismar Menezes, 55, is a retired judge and father of six. He is president of Agir36, and his pre-candidacy was approved in April during a meeting of the party in Ribeirão Preto.
Jorge Roque (PT): Jorge Roque, 46, is a lawyer and has been president of the PT in Ribeirão Preto since 2019. He won the party’s internal primaries in March and was officially announced as a pre-candidate for mayor.
